World Vision Missions Event

Missions Mobilization, Mississippi Baptist Convention Board, is now offering an exciting day to renew passion for the people of the world.

The Worldview Missions Event schedule is as follows:

  • a.m. – Sunday School – Guest International Mission Board personnel shares with students and adults. The content should set the stage for later sessions on lostness and ways a local congregation can make a difference.
  • a.m. – Worship – Ken Rhodes, Director of Missions Mobilization, shares a message about developing a Biblical worldview with a people group focus. Areas addressed are increasing cultural awareness, reviewing a people group case study, developing an adequate Biblical framework, and becoming intentional in missions.
  • p.m. – 3 Sessions

1. Session 1 – 45 minutes – presentation by an International Mission Board Global Research Department on lostness and the status of world evangelization.

2. Session 2 – 45 minutes – presentation by an International Mission Board representative sharing opportunities of ways a local church can engage a people group or form a strategic partnership with a company worker.

3. Session 3 – 10-20 minutes – questions and answers

The day concludes with a time of emphasis on prayer.

Two of these events have been held in Mississippi churches and others are being scheduled. By a October 5, 2008, scheduled event, there will be a Children’s Mission Rally planned to be conducted simultaneously with the evening session with students and adults.

A few months ago, Quitman First Baptist Church hosted the first of these events. The result was a tremendous increase in Lottie Moon giving. In addition, the pastor and student minister traveled to the Pac Rim where a strategic connection is being formed.
