In southern Tanzania an IMB missionary family had trouble choosing between a vacation at a nearby lake or time in the village. This family has been given a house in a Safwa village and has spent much of this year learning the language and culture of the Safwa by living in this village. It was nearing the end of their year and they had not taken many of their allotted vacation days. So they headed to the lake. It didn’t take long before the two girls, 12 and 9 years respectively, were asking if they could leave the lake and their vacation time and go back to the village. The family did end their vacation early and headed back to the village. God has used the time in the village to train 40 “mover and shakers” across the Livingston mountains to share the good news of Christ is a storying format. And these two MKs have found that home in the village rivals vacation at the lake. And what about us? Do eternal things and the giving of ourselves to share Christ rival our vacation days?
