UNENGAGED PEOPLES OF SOUTH ASIA. In John 10, Jesus refers to Himself as the Good Shepherd. The Bhenrihar people of India traditionally have worked as shepherds. About 4 million Bhenrihars speak the Wagri or Wagdi language and live mostly in or near Rajasthan state. These Bhenrihars understand what it means to care for sheep. Jesus told the Israelites, “… I lay down my life for the sheep. I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd” (John 10:15b-16 ,NIV). The Bible, JESUS film, and Christian radiobroadcasts are not yet available in the Wagri language. Pray that God will provide a way for the Wagri-speaking Bhenrihar people to hear Jesus’ message of salvation. Pray that the Good Shepherd will search for the Bhenrihars of India and bring them into His protected and blessed fold. www.neglectedfields.net
