Since she had already been praying for her students for some time, the Christian teacher was delighted to hear that three of them had been asked to help with a translation of a book about the Bible. They told her that in the process, they had been able to read portions of the Old Testament. But they admitted that they had found it difficult to understand. Then one of them asked the teacher if she owned a Bible. "Yes," she replied. "It's my favorite book." At that point, she quite naturally shared some of her favorite passages. When one of them asked to borrow her Bible, she readily consented. Then she overheard a student who had been on the fringes of the conversation say, "When you are finished reading it, may I read it, too?" The teacher rummaged through her possessions to find another Bible that could be shared. As the students left her home, bearing the precious treasures in their arms, she breathed a prayer that they too would soon have a personal relationship with the main character of the Book.
