Hope for Bihar

Mukesh is a 26-year-old Bihari man in India who is studying for his master of science degree. Someone had given Mukesh a New Testament and questions from his readings prompted him to seek out Christians. He bicycled to ask a group of Baptist volunteers from Southeast Asia about the seven churches in the Book of Revelation. “I seized this opportunity to share the gospel with him,” one volunteer said. “In fact, Mukesh knew much about the gospel, and he was able to tell me that John the Baptist found himself unworthy to untie the thongs of Jesus’ sandals.”

After their conversation, an Indian Christian led Mukesh in the prayer of confession. Give God the glory for drawing this man to Himself and give Him thanks for all that He is doing among Biharis. “Here was a seeker all ready and prepared to believe,” the volunteer proclaimed. “There is hope for Bihar.”
